Over the last couple of months we have been consulting with residents, businesses, the town council, local area partnership, Wiltshire Council officers and a host of others to pull together a town team in Trowbridge.
Steered by the Trowbridge County Town Initiative, Plain Fresh have been working alongside Common Capital and Meanwhile Space CIC in response to the Mary Portas Review to put together a bid for Trowbridge to become a Portas Pilot Town.
Rallying the town and Wiltshire to get behind their County Town
We have put together the bid, prepared press statements and written a website. Volunteers have stepped forward to donate their time and resources in putting together a Youtube Video, printing leaflets, giving advice, airing suggestions and coming up with innovative new ways to take the town forward. In addition our team here have come up with some innovative new thinking on how to improve upon the BID (Business Improvement District) model with a BID 2.0 and organisations within the town are already working hard on exciting projects such as the Asset Transfer of the Town Hall, to become an Arts Centre.
In the coming months we shall be continuing our work within the town on two specific projects to take us to May 7th, when the competition winners are announced and beyond, so that the immense energy and enthusiasm that has been captured can be capitalised upon.
